President Kaklamanis was received by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, who warmly welcomed him and his delegation to the Archdiocese.
During the visit, Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his appreciation for the President’s presence in New York during the Greek Independence Day celebrations — the first such visit by a President of the Hellenic Parliament since 2008 — and underscored the enduring bonds between Greece, the Church and the Greek American community. President Kaklamanis, in turn, extended an official invitation to His Eminence to visit the Hellenic Parliament in Athens.
