National Sisterhood of Presvyteres During Pandemic
This year, 2020, will be a year that no one will forget. COVID-19 has affected us all in so many ways. The National Sisterhood of Presyvteres (NSP) has been active in reaching out to Presvyteres throughout the archdiocese during this pandemic.
Well, thank God for technology! The NSP purchased a Zoom account through the Archdiocese and sister Presvyteres are coming together virtually quite regularly. The Metropolis Representatives have been organizing Zoom calls within their metropolis – some meet monthly, some bi-monthly, and some weekly! A few Metropolitans have participated in the calls and offered their blessings to his clergy families. It has proven to be a source of encouragement, and comfort as we see each other. The participants can vary from call to call, but it has been a great way to stay connected.
Along with these calls, we have also held some meetings with the National Executive officers, and metropolis boards. Since we will not have the opportunity to come together in person at the Clergy-Laity Congress this year, the National Board will be holding a final meeting of the 2018-2020 term via Zoom the 27th of June.
On May 26th, we were most honored to have a webinar with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros with Presvyteres from across the Archdiocese. We were able to submit questions and share concerns regarding the pandemic, and His Eminence was very patient and gracious with his answers. He brought much comfort and peace to those that participated. We appreciate his love and encouragement that he shared with us.
