On the final morning of the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress and National Philoptochos Convention, the Philoptochos Agape Breakfast brought together the women of the National Philoptochos Society in a spirit of celebration and gratitude.
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America attended alongside Patriarchal Representatives His Eminence Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria, His Eminence Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki, and Grand Archimandrite Iakovos, as well as Archdiocesan hierarchs His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh and His Grace Bishop Athenagoras of Nazianzos, Philoptochos’s Spiritual Advisor. The morning included the presentation of nine AGAPE Awards, distributed by His Eminence and National Philoptochos President Debbie George.
“In a world where so often we see violence and brutality—neighbor upon neighbor, nation upon nation—it is so refreshing to be in the presence of an Army of non-violence, an Army of Love,” Archbishop Elpidophoros said. “As I look out upon you, gathered at this AGAPE Breakfast, because you are those who are committed to All Generations Accomplishing Philanthropic Endeavors.”
